A story our future selves will look back upon and (hopefully) laugh:
I'm on the phone with my girlfriend, back in my home town - and now I can see her, fro a quarter million miles away, looking through her telescope and looking up, waving at me from the window of our old house - I can see it all now through my telescope... I mean, not really 'now' --because the light does take a good two seconds to get here from Planet Used To Be, through mirror relays, and here to Crater's Ridge - so I'm seeing her as she was 2 seconds ago and... ugh... it's that latency that makes intimate conversations so difficult, and drives our love into the ground - a lot can happen in two seconds - I see her waving, but by 'now' she could have started turning to walk away... as I fear she will soon. The crazy anomaly that she won't know that I know for another 4 seconds
Well at least I'm not in a long distance relationship with her from Mars Colony - where you wait 40 minutes to get a response -- might as well try to have a relationship via next day delivery - and none of the work I am doing with the Cadets in the lab to take that walk Backwards In Time is for taking you back 40 minutes so you can have a real conversation with the love of your life.... or even 4 minutes for that matter
.. shoot! my love life is doomed...

The Story
... starts when humankind gained the ability to go into the past and truly see a location in space and time from the comfort of a Time-taxi from 5th Axis industries. Look out the window, although you'd be unable to change or even contact the past, you could see any event. Tap on the glass all you want - the past can't see you . Still, knowing what really happened changes man's knowledge of verifiable truth and had a stunning effect on society in 2046.
Still some humans retained the hope of sticking their hand out of that taxi, and handing a note to their grandparents, or an old lover, to let them know what's really going down.
As we open our story, Pru is waking up in her hotel room on Blackstone Station, where the flux concentration crystals are mined - her boyfriend and contact with the Machines - has gone off to find a Lab-boy that'll make the changes needed to throw a paradox into time.
Pru wakes up to find Tab missing - she'll grab some coffee and think of her upcoming trip into the past, where her twin Portia is waiting for the love she needs to heal
Tab, Pru's lover and genetic sommalier, drams of takng a time taxi to Wailea, 2022. While on the Lanai, a travel guitar receives a tune from the Universe. Back in San Diego, The Universe Channel Band completes the mantra, a song that
Tab had learned to speak machine as a child growing up on station. Now he works with some of the seediest Time Taxi drivers, to take researchers back to critical time and space and see the paradoxes there. The Lab Boy will be ready with some hacks
Pru prepares to get her first ride on a Time Taxi. There's a warning sign - it feels weird - she sees you faing into the past - but like most others, she falls in love withe experience and goes back over and over again, until a paradox bomb makes her realize what a dangerous game she is playing
One of the tunes that comes standard with the playlist used inside the Time-Taxis to keep the participants kind - the pedal steel rides above the waves
Nirvana, the ship spiritualist for the SS Queen of the Stars, where Pru's twin sister Portia makes DNA-laced Super Wine, that temporarily transmutes the pleasure seeking passengers into humans of her superior capability. Such spiritual relief is necessary to provide passengers with their individuality and sanity. But don't believe me - listen to Super Wine Cruise, a song by The Universe Channel, from our first album, Clues to Another World

The Story -
It is 2056, and the famed Vintners on the earth orbiting cruise ship SS Queen of the Stars are busy. Tab, a vintner assistant and genetic engineer, is helping Portia prepare her own vintage SUPER-WINE for their new clients arriving shipboard any minute. The 5th-Axis Cruise Line has a waiting list for Earthers, thirsting for the experience of capturing the skills and powers of the infamous Portia’s genetic enhancements, temporarily melding and transferring specific alleles in their DNA to provide a life-like thrill ride into superhumandom.
But Tab is distracted, since she is also programming Pru’s Lodestone-class shuttle vehicle, and its full-sensation PiezoSuit, for the long and thusfar secretive ride to return and reclaim their right to their Mars home. Pru and Portia were genetically created as Mars-born twins, originally conjoined, but separated before birth. Exiled from Mars Colony because of their inability to conform to the identity and preference norms, they have been building their genetic enhancements while hiding out as Vintners on the Star, waiting for their chance to mobilize and fight for what is right, or at least, for Mars.

There's more to the Universe than meets the human eye ... we create our own worlds around us. We can create a beautiful world full of art and lover, or we can create a world of consumption ... it's up to us.
